If you are a caring, compassionate person looking to make a difference, and ready for a challenge, we invite you to consider becoming part of our community.

WORK HERE

L’Arche celebrates diversity and seeks to build an inclusive community where everyone is treated fairly, with kindness and respect, and valued for who they are.

As an employer, L’Arche encourages applications from everybody irrespective of religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, and age.

People come to work at L’Arche from around the world, and around the corner. The key to life in L’Arche for everyone is being open to relationship.

In L’Arche, our support workers are called Assistants. Here’s why: L’Arche Assistants work as a team alongside adults with intellectual disabilities, supporting them to make their own choices, acquire new skills, build connections with family, friends and neighbours, and lead fulfilling lives. That’s what great support is all about. But more than that, when you work as an Assistant in L’Arche you’re also joining a community, alongside other people with and without intellectual disabilities.

Ideal candidates possess the following traits and skills: warm and friendly nature, easy to work with, initiative, effective communication skills, creative problem solving skills, and strong team-oriented perspective.

VOLUNTEER HERE

Do you want to join a community with a mission to build a more inclusive world?

We are on the lookout for volunteers, who are willing to share their time, their skills and their love with our community. Do you have a passion for baking? Playing games? Maybe you are good at fixing furniture? Do you love gardening? Or simply going out for walks?

Whether you are young or old, whether you have lots of time to spare or a little, volunteering is a great way of being part of L’Arche. You’ll have fun, you’ll make a difference – and it might be the experience you will never forget.

There are opportunities to volunteer in one of our homes, at our office, in our programs, or at various events and initiatives.
